Servet Yıldırım was born in Ankara in 1964. In 1986 he graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Management and the same year he started to work as an assistant economist at Isbank. From 1988, he started to work at the treasury department of the bank.
Yıldırım joined Reuters News Agency as a correspondent in December 1989. In 1996, he became the Head of the Reuters Turkish News Service. Yıldırım started to work as a News Director at CNBC-e channel in April 2004 and he was appointed as Editor-in-Chief in 2005. He was nominated as Head of Economics Group at Doğuş Media Group. Yıldırım was a commentator at various programs on CNBC-e as well as his management qualities until 2016. Now he is a commentator with Mahfi Eğilmez for the program called “NTVPara” (NTVMoney) on NTV.
Yıldırım was a columnist for the following newspapers: Yeni Binyıl (1999); Sabah (2002-2004); Referans (2004-2009); Radikal (2009-2011). Yıldırım’s articles have been published in many local and foreign journals and newspapers.
